Introduction

Hello, welcome to Jadebook’s knowledge base (or documentation). We go through all the features and aspects of Jadebook so if you want to know something, it’s probably here.

Jadebook’s goal is to be a platform that helps people understand themselves and sort out their thoughts. It goes a little beyond journalling to things like long term terms, understanding your personality etc.

The Why

All the journals I’d tried lacked some basic features. I won’t mention them, but some lacked features like device sync, rich-text editing, or had performance issues. Some platforms simply lacked an intuitive UI. Jadebook is built on newer infrastructure and design standards, allowing for a far superior experience.

Most journals on the market are also closed-source and often come with privacy concerns. We’re committed to building for the community and so we have a completely open-source version of Jadebook that comes with a bunch features and allows you to setup your own database, completely removing any privacy concerns.

Current limitations

Jadebook is a solo-developer project, as such, there might be bugs. Another limitation is that we don’t have a native mobile app (Although we support PWAs).
